Volunteer Position Description
Goal:
To assist with clerical tasks at the Peel Children’s Aid Society office. To support the work of the Administrative and Departmental staff to enhance the service delivery of the department.
Description & Expectations:
- Preparing mailing packages
- Organizing files
- Reviewing documents
- Photocopying
- Labeling files
- Shredding appropriate documents
- Other duties as required
Supervised By:
Department Supervisor and/or Unit Administrators
Qualifications Required:
- Strong organization skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to seek feedback when required
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or in a team setting in a fast paced office
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- An understanding of anti-oppression practices and willingness to embrace these practices
- Basic computer skills
- Dependability and reliability
Time Required:
- Three to four hours per week
- Minimum six months to one year commitment
Training Provided:
- Basic Orientation – mandatory
- On the job training by staff
